Diane, I have used both watered down folk art type paint, and real blush on dolls etc. Both work well. If you arent used to using the paint, probably the blush is a bit easier to apply to the right colour you want.
Oh and I almost forgot too - LOVE THE BUNNY. And the quilt next to him
