I found some new embossing plates yesterday on a shopping trip. I love them!! They make the background papers so much more professional looking, dont you think?
Merry Christmas Friends, Pretend one of these is specially made for you.

It is so lovely to come and look at what everyone else has been doing.
Joy, I think the idea to cover the brick was inspired!! I will have to do that before next spring. We generally just stick a shoe behind the door to control how open it is. Not very pretty.
Sue, the stocking make me want an embroidery machine even more. You do such a fantastic job finishing everything off. It will be a long while before I can achieve such perfect results.
Marilyn, the wall hangings and quilt are great. If they are being gifted, can I put my name in?
I just love everything.
Good work all
Hugs Anna

Wow all these exciting Christmas Projects, thank you all for sharing ladies.
Joy when Father Christmas goes on his 12 months holiday, you will need another door stop, I have a Goose Patt, which you could fill with sand. I sit mine in a low basket, heavy weight in bottom, fabric or straw for HER to sit on, wearing a Bonnet, still waiting for the Golden Egg.
Just know you will get other ideas for door stops.
Definitely going to join next Christmas fabric Noodle Shuffle.

Well I got a postcard made, but I cheated, scanned a photo taken last year from the local paper. My daughter Penelope volunteers as a 'Historical Interpretor' at the local tourist attraction and they have a gourmet picnic in Oct/Nov. There were only postcards of Melbourne in the shops. Hope they like it.

Marilyn,
Wow, you have been busy and they are all so wonderful. I really like the Noel. My grandmother made me a odd wall hanging many years ago with Noel on it and somehow in the last few years it has disappeared. It would be nice if I made one to replace it with, if we can't find the one she made.

Didnt intend them to be so large.
In the last one the pics were printed off the grain so that was a challenge. They show a bit crooked but her little boys wont notice I am sure.

Very nice Anna. Panels are great when there isn't time for a pieced project. They are a good place to practice different techneques, also, and have a usable piece when finished.

Anna how beautiful! You are multitalented. I love quilting, do the quilting by hand but have no patience for other crafts. Too fiddley for me. I envy you and agree that some of your cards should be thrown into the auction. Since I will be sending to you from now on, I will send extra cash to maybe find a card in my parcel? My birthday is in October if you want to start planning it. (Just kidding). Pat

I found this panel on ebay. It was a last minute deal. I think it probably cost me a dollar! I bought some other fabric from the same seller and so they tucked in the panel so no extra postage required.
It arrived in the mail on Monday last week. On Tuesday I had it mostly trapunto. On Wednesday I background quilted it. On Thursday I sewed on the binding in time to take it to my quilting groups Christmas dinner.

This is a project that has always intimidated me even though I have had the instructions for a long time. Joyce yours is great and it looks just like Texas I have to tell ya. hahahahaha I have to wonder what I should do that is specific to my local community. I will figure it out, if I ever find the time to do it. I still have three quilts to finish before the 29th. So I may have to send my well wishes to Michelle late.

No hassles, went to P O, gueued out to the door. As I would of course, chatted to guy behind me in queue, wearing Grand Canyon Cap, talked of travels. My turn at counter, hey presto, sweet young girlie, took Post Card, small stamp ( Jo had written address to high oops), so it is on its way, to Aussie.
If they arrive with the ravages of posting, can only add interest.

Well Anna, have to try this. Will you post your when you can? Would love to see what your working on.

Hi Suzy, I booted my hubby off the computer finally!
Tea bag paper folding is a form of folding tiny, 1 inch squares of special paper into patterns, then nesting the folded papers together to form medalions. It is fairly easy and there are lots of free downloadable papers and patterns online. Here is a good place to start looking at some stuff. http://dereksteabagtiles.forumsplace.com/urljump.php?url=http://mystudio3d.tripod.com/teabagfold.htm
Iris folding is really cool too. You glue strips of folded paper into a set design inside a cutout window of cardstock. Its very easy too and looks very complicated. I like that! You can see some iris folding here http://www.irisfolding.circleofcrafters.com/

Excellent job ladies!
Just to clarify for you all, as there seems to be some questions about whether or not you need to use an envelope. You do not These will mail just like any paper version would. So go ahead and put your stamps on they will arrive just fine!
Just double check you weight, as most of the time it will require more than the standard postcard postage. So the best thing is to have it weighed first, but there is no need to use an envelope for these.
Keep them coming, I am looking forward to seeing all the creations! And I know Michelle and Simon will be thrilled as well! Imagine her mail carrier for the next few weeks.....what an interesting surprise they will have delivering these.
Re:POSTCARDS
- Re:POSTCARDS - 2007-12-16 00:47:38-05
I did it, my first effort of Post Card.
There are numerous White Horses carved into the chalk hillsides of Wiltshire, dating back hundreds of years.
They are land marks can been seen for miles, this one at Westbury is the nearest to where I live.
You will see from top pic, what I have tried to copy.
Off to P O tomorrow, with envelope as back up.
Made with many thanks to Michelle Simon for starting Creative Quilting.
