For any others who are receiving the Java Runtime error message, here is the advice from Michelle.

Simon has suggested that you may need to upload the most current version of Java - your computer generally does this automatically

Simon is also waiting for a new version of the gallery to be released as it will solve many of the problems we have been encountering

Do you use an Internet explorer browser ?

We uploaded what must have been the new version of Java and it has worked. Still get an error message, but carried on and it worked. Hope this may help others. MarilynPost edited by: MarilynD, at: 2007/10/18 16:18

I have the same galleries listed, plus my three! One is empty; I don't need it.

I did get an error message when I hit the edit button in the new gallery.

Kathy, you must have the magic touch . I followed your instructions and just like MarilynD, I got the same FATAL ERROR message and the site closes down completely.

Simon needs to really look into this problem. I've tried messaging him, but get booted out when I do.

    Chris,
Those are both great sites and the instructions are very well written and easy to read. Thank you for the input.
As for the rag quilt that she was also asking about that is done buy sewing the squares together with 1/2 or larger seams and leaving them on the top of the quilt. I put only flannel inside the top and bottom, then quilted an x on each square to hold it all together.
I am almost finished with the one I am making and will post it as soon as I get it hung up at the store. It is a Christmas tree with gifts under it. I have to say it turned out pretty nice. I didn't think ahead though and it is a slight bit larger than I had intended. I am pretty sure it will fit a double or queen bed and it was supposed to be a wall or sofa quilt. LOL That is what I get for making my own pattern.

These are the steps I did to add a photo to an existing gallery:

    1. Go to gallery

    2. Open my gallery

    3. Click on user system at top of page

    4. Click on Media Manager

    5. Choose my gallery

    6. Click on the icon on the right for up loading photos

    . Do the upload

It also seems to be working from the user system
button at the bottom of the main page today.

I now have a gallery titled new with two subgalleries that I don't need and two subgalleries in my old gallery! If someone can access that they are welcome to it or maybe Simon can delete it.

Maybe it is fixed; I haven't been kicked to the Home page today.

  • Re:pictures put into the gallery - 2007-10-16 01:56:50-04
Those were the steps I took earlier tonight but it still didnt work for me. It tells me there is a Plug in fatal error , Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded and shuts the site down completely. Does anyone else get this message?
I will have to have another try tomorrow. I did it 4 times tonight with the same result each time. Has worked that way in the past, just not now.

Kathy (KQuilts) asked me how I got photos posted in the gallery. These are the steps I took.
On the gallery home page-where it shows all the names with a photo of a quilt for each person , scroll down to the bottom of the page.
    1. in the bottom lefthand corner, click on user system.
    2. click on media manager (or for a new gallery go to Gallery manager, make a new gallery then Media manager)
    3. Pick a gallery. I found only a few came up, and mine was one of them if yours isn't maybe you'll have to make name2 in a new gallery.
    4. click on the greyed out slide in the top rhside of the page-it will turn coloured.
    5. pick a photo from your computer(browse etc)Don't forget to re size them 1st to under 700whatevers
    6. Add name and comment if wanted.
    7. Upload

this worked for me about 10 minutes ago, as I posted a photo of a new quilt I'm working on for a breast cancer raffle and wrote down the steps just to make sure the other day wasn't a fluke, as I wasn't able to post a photo in show and tell the other day

hope it works for you, if not try making a new gallery and see if that works

    Joy
