from noodles and have them 4 1/2 inches. This is a little tricky to get them the right size, because there is no room for error. Sew and cut carefully.
Here is how to make half square triangles from strips that are the width of the unfinished block.
Square up the ends of the two fabrics strips you are combining for the half square triangle blocks.
Draw a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite side on the lighter fabric. This is the first seam line.
A big half inch from this line, draw a parallel line for the second seam line.
A light cut line may be drawn between these two lines.
Draw a light cut line perpendicular to the edge of the fabric at the end of the second seam line.
Repeat for as many squares as you need (count the triangles, as a triangle will make a square). You may need to make sure that they are coming out big enough by measuring the sides of the triangles. You can always start the next set over a little farther, if they are too small.
Layer the two fabrics.
Stitch just to one side of the seam line (toward the diagonal cut line), so that the squares will finish big enough.
See the diagram.

Hello all,
I just have to share with my new favorite toy!!!! I went shopping today for fabric for a class Im taking tomorrow and came home with lovely fabric for that, and a big bag full to add to my wish list stash.
But the most amazing thing happened. I went into the machine place to buy a new 1/4 inch foot and came out with a new machine. They had all their floor demo models on end of the year sale. I picked this beauty up for an crazy price. It is the long arm I have wanted for soooo long. Now when I can afford it, or convince my hubby to splurge at christmas I get the long quilting frame to go with it. Life is good!!

I finally got it to work. This is the first quilt which I made for my mother who has been quilting for several years. What a challenge. Her commit was, I can't bnnelieve it, it's beatutiful, but couldn't you find something easy?

The wallhanging is lovely, should win? but we are a little biased.
Was thinking last night, that I should get some more hand embroidery going, I waste time at night now I have the machine to embroider, it would probably stop me falling asleep in the lounge chair. Daylight saving down here seems hard to get used to this year. Do you miss it, or do you not like it? I know they have it in most coungtries now. Just not Queensland.

I have just finished and submitted my entry into a challenge at my usual quilting store. It was to be a wall hanging approx. 20 inches x 27 inches, and the theme was Take time to smell the Flowers - interpreted in whatever way we liked. And fabrics needed to come from their store.
