The 2 older ones will be secured and not hung or touched. The one of my Mom's and mine will be hung but I believe it is display only, no touching.
Yes I am very fortunate that Mom gave them to me when she did. My one sister would have them in her basement, rotting in the damp, and the other one doesn't value anything, even admits it, so who knows. This is one case where Mom made the right choice for sure as far as I am concerned. No I don't have daughters, but one daughter in law is into art, so would probably value them, but they don't have children (and can't) so I have not decided what I will do. Hard Decision.

Pat, you are one fortune lady to be keeper of the quilts. So pleased to her they will be display, I would put to not touch on them. They are in very good shape. Now do you have someone to pass them on to, keep them in the family?

That is incredible Pat, I have a few of the family quilts, but I was promised the left over squares from my great grandmother. However my great aunt didn't find them before she got sick and now her daughter refuses to let me have them even though she will never even take them out of the box they are in. Most likely they are in the attic and ruined, from heat and cold in the Louisiana weather. You are fortunate they were given to you before it came to what happened to me. Enjoy them and it is so cool that you are sharing them with the community.

    Diane,
It really is a simple process. You piece your block like you would any block, then you stack the block, batting, and backing. Quilt as desired starting at the center of the block and working out toward the edges. Do not quilt the last inch or inch and half of the outside edge of your block.
Layer your sashing as you layered your block, top batting and backing. To put them together place the block and the sashing right sides together. Fold the backing piece on the sashing back away from the seam area. Trim away some of the batting so it isn't too thick. Sew together in a quarter inch seem. Lay this out flat and take the loose backing and fold it under a quarter inch and blind stitch it in place over the seem covering it completely. Now you may complete the quilting on the block and after you have added the next block you can quilt your sashing as desired.
I hope that is understand able.

I have just finished this Tea Cosy for a Birthday Pressy, using a F Q, Sue 90 gave me.
Calarice Cliff fabric ceramic pottery design, she was an Art Deco Designer in the 20th Century. Just wish I had a Teapot, it could be worth £600/£800 at Auction.
I have made it for a friend, for first pot of tea in the morning, before she takes 3 doggies for walk, the blue binding is for blue skies, not hot, just blue skies over the downs where she walks.
