  This is a calculator that Chris posted at quilting weekly. Remember that 2 triangles make a square. Add extra in case of mistakes and squaring up the fabric.

  Hi Ladies,
  Don't know if any of you can help,but here is my ?.
  My daughter Clare wants me to make her the same quilt i have just finished.This time in 4 fabrics in browns and creams.I don't know how to work out how much fabric i need to buy.The lady in quilt shop worked mine out for me and i had to buy more because i ran out.(she told me wrong)The blocks are 9 and i need 35 for quilt and 4 for the corners.So i was hoping some one would show me how to work this out.

  Yes, Sue, great job. I haven't been brave enough to machine quilt anything bigger than a lap quilt. I started to do one once and ripped the stitching out and did by hand.

  Great job and great machine quilting. after 13 years of quilting I would not try that even on a wall hanging. I am not brave enough, do it all by hand.

  You can be VERY Proud of your first quilt!
  This was a huge undertaking. I don't know anyone to jump right in a make a large quilt like you have. Your machine quilting turned out beautiful!!
