  I usually cut fabric for paper piecing with 1/4 seam allowances. I may make small pieces somewhat bigger so they aren't too small. I don't find it any more wasteful than crazy quilt piecing.

  # MarilynD : I did a paper pieced quilt - queen bed size last year - still waiting to be quilted. We cut the fabric to just a bit bigger than the section required. Some use a huge piece of fabric and that seems harder and more wasteful
