    technically, any pattern you purchase/download from the web is for your use only. copying, or reproducing and distributing it in any way is a no no.

    Of course we have all shared a pattern with a friend. And I am sure that you won't get in any real trouble for that.

    But by posting it on the forum, that is a form of reproducing, and anyone could then in theory print and or copy it without ever purchasing the pattern/directions etc. (assuming they were legible) All I had to do was right click on the image, and I can copy it to a file on my computer. It is that easy. So if this were legible, I can steal the pattern or directions right from the forum. Does that make sense?

    This deprives the owner of money they could have made by the sale of that pattern or set of directions.
