  Anna, I use QSnap both for my floor frame and for my carry along frame. I find I do not have to baste, just pin together and you can adjust the tension to your liking. I like mine pulled tight, but my sister has hers loose, so I guess it's your preferance, whatever works. My carry along is the 14 inch, but I have an extender to make it 17 inch. My floor frame also has an extension from 36 to 72 inch. I find if I can rest the hand frame on an arm of a chair or table or even your knee then it frees up your hand to quilt with.
  Good luck and hope all goes well, concentrate hard on those stitches and everyone will think the tears are just frustration! Will be thinking of you and Tom. Hope the weather co-operates. We have another 15 cm of snow today and another 10 or 15 coming tonight!! Isn't winter in Canada beautiful!
