- Turntable ironing board - 2007-11-05 14:55:25-05
Hi everyone - While surfing this last week, I found a nifty idea and I have just made one up. It is so handy! I bought a hardwood turntable from Ikea (called a Snudda 900.744.83) that cost $6.99 US and then I took an old ironing board cover and cut it to fit around the turntable (4 larger than the perimeter of the turntable, sewed a casing, inserted some stout cotton cord, and tada! I have an ironing turntable to sit next to my sewing machine. I think this will be especially helpful as I work in paper piecing. The idea came originally from Japan where Clover sells a roundtable for craft work. It has made several blogs since then and I saw it on the Ikea Hacker blog.

The above address shows the Japanese version (in Japanese) but has good photos of how it can be used.

Shows good photos of the actual process.
Thought someone might be interested in this as well.
