  I bought something called 'Thangles' I think they come from USA, they are strips like your drawing and come in all sizes including 4 1/2 I think. they are printed on what I think Tenneye called onion skin typing paper and rip off.I made a quilt with the 1 1/2 ones and they made it real easy. We can also get sheets from the Quilters Barn in Loch who have an online site. I must confess I cheated in the friendship star and used them. Maybe you could print your own if you had some lightweight paper in A4 and the right program on your computer.
